PRESS RELEASE 05/05/2025
On Saturday 03/05/2025 ANIMA released rehabilitated wild birds in Penteli, which had arrived for treatment in previous months. Snake eagles, eagle owls, buzzards, long-eared owls, barn owls, a common kestrel and a cuckoo were released. Birds and other wildlife are released on a daily basis once their treatment has been completed, often in the presence of schools and friends of ANIMA.
Representatives of the Penteli Forestry Office and HEDNO, which financially supports ANIMA every year, members of the Board of Directors and staff of ANIMA, as well as volunteers, students from the Kryoneri and Agios Stefanos middle schools and many other friends and associates were invited and were present in this event. The releases will continue throughout the month in various parts of Greece, before the onset of the summer heatwaves and drought.
