On December 5 and 6, ANIMA was invited by the Management Unit of the Evros Delta & Dadia National Park (NECCA) for training on providing first aid to injured wild animals. ANIMA’s specialized veterinarian presented basic principles of care for each species, while in the practice section, participants closely observed the clinical examination of an injured buzzard. The event concluded with the release of two rehabilitated griffon vultures, which were transported by Aegean Airlines.
Furthermore, on December 12-13, ANIMA’s veterinarian participated as a guest speaker at the international conference “Modern Trends in Species Conservation” at Trakia University in Bulgaria. In his presentation, “Wildlife Rehabilitation in Greece: Advances in Clinical and Field Practices and New Treatment Protocols,” he presented new practices and treatment protocols for the care of wild animals, while also meeting with colleagues from Green Balkans, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.
These events highlight the importance of specialized care, training, and effective partnerships for wildlife conservation.
